![]() ![]() So here are the answers to some of the questions that might trip up citizens of the United States. ![]() Still, things do start to get a little hazy when we go past the family drama and arrive at the monarch’s constitutional functions. ![]() On Saturday, our friends across the pond will be doing something similar to hail the reign of King Charles III, their new head of state, keeper of history, and national mascot, only instead of poetry, we’ll hear hymns and bible verses, and instead of Jennifer Lopez and Garth Brooks, we’re getting a cross section of government officials, international royals, and Britons rewarded for their charity.Ĭonsidering our nation’s origins, it is a little weird that so many of us are tuning in to a ceremony hailing a new king, but we’ve already proven over the last few years that regardless of our past disagreements, we’re obsessed with the British royals. ![]() Just think of the inauguration, where every four years we celebrate with our uniquely American traditions, like pop stars and free verse poetry. Here in the United States, we’re no strangers to a bit of pomp and circumstance when a new head of state is elected. ![]()
